Privacy policy

CricMaidan is open to everyone. Anyone can sign in and create their own quick match or tournament, and manage it themselves: the teams, the players, the fixtures, the auction and the scores.

Each organiser controls only the matches and tournaments they created. They cannot change anyone else's, and nobody else can change theirs. Players control their own profile.

If you sign in with Google we store your name, email address and profile picture, as given to us by Google. If you sign in with a mobile number we store that number and an encrypted form of your password — never the password itself.

If you fill in a player profile we also store what you enter there: your photo, village, age, and how you bat and bowl. When you register for a tournament, that tournament keeps a copy of those details.

For matches and tournaments you create, we store what you enter: team names and logos, the players you add, fixtures, auction bids and every ball scored.

To keep you signed in, to let organisers find you and add you to their teams, to show your name on a scorecard, and to add up your runs and wickets across tournaments so your career record is yours rather than starting again every season.

Cricket is played in public. Your name, photo, village and match statistics appear on scorecards, team pages and rankings that anyone can see, without signing in.

Organisers searching for a player see their name, photo and village, and only the last four digits of their mobile number — enough to tell two people with the same name apart. Your email address, full mobile number and password are never shown to organisers or to the public.

Only the people who run CricMaidan can see full contact details, and only to help with accounts — for example creating a login for a player who has no Google account.

The app carries advertising from local businesses. We count how many times an advert was shown and how often it was tapped, as totals per day — never tied to you personally. We do not sell your data to anyone.

You can delete your account at any time from your profile page. Your login, email, phone number and photo are erased immediately.

Scorecards of matches you played in are kept, with your name removed. A scorecard belongs to everyone who played that match, and deleting one player's runs from it would corrupt the record for everyone else on the field. An organiser can delete a tournament they created as long as no match in it has been played.
